The AprsGrid program is a utility program to help the amateur radio operator calculate their APRS-IS pass code and/or their grid square location. The APRS-IS pass code can be used for normal APRS tracking programs that require it. The APRS-IS pass code is calculated from the operator’s callsign.
The grid square can be used with programs like FT4, FT8, JS8Call, and any other program that requires grid square values. The grid square is calculated from the entered GPS coordinates in decimal degree values and will calculate a 10 character grid square value. Just use the accuracy that you need from 4 to 10 characters.
This program was developed using the Cross Platform Qt Creator IDE with Microsoft Windows and Linux Mint environments. To run this program, you will need to first download the Qt6 libraries for your Windows or Linux system. This only needs to be done once. There after, you would download the executable program. Click on these downloads from the tables below, either for Windows or Linux, depending on your operating system.
If you download this program and give it a try, please report any bugs or other problems you might be having to N7LWD@arrl.net I will try to resolve any problems as soon as I can. However, do remember that we travel in our motor home and this is a volunteer effort. Thanks for your patience.
