FMCA AMATEUR RADIO CHAPTER CAMP OUTS AND RALLIES

Let me give you an idea what a chapter camp out is about.
1. A chapter camp out is not a rally. Here a few differences:
  A. No rally fees
  B. No chapter money for door prizes
  C. No advanced chapter money for planning (shouldn’t be needed)
  D. No welcome bags to put together
  E. No executive board meeting. In fact, chapter officers need-not be present
  F. No general meeting therefore no official chapter business
  G. Expenses: Make own camping reservation + personal expenses
2. Campouts are simple to plan, easy to execute, and a joy for all
3. Any FMCA ARC member may plan a campout anytime, anywhere, and for any reason. Planners
may contact Bob, Rick or any chapter officer for information or assistance.
4. Happy hour and group meals are always a good way to get acquainted and socialize, but not a
requirement.
5. Campouts may be publicized on the chapter website, through email, and our Transmitter.
6. Campouts are a good way for members to informally get together at a local or special venue or
for any occasion. It’s a good way to meet our members or perhaps to invite prospective new
members.
7. Seminars and loosely planned activities are always welcome.
8. Swap meet e.g. Books, RV items, Ham Radio items, etc. are welcome.

SIDE NOTE ON RALLIES

By the way rallies are also fun to host and simple to plan. The chapter is always looking for volunteers

who are warm to the idea of hosting a rally. Our chapter has a number of members willing to assist. We
have boilerplate forms and work sheets in place for about anything that is needed. Also, you are not
alone you will have a co-host to share the fun, ideas, and work load.
The Blackstock’s, Hamilton’s, and most of our Chapter’s Executive Board have hosted and/or co-hosted
multiple rallies (EXPERIENCE). Contact us and we will be happy to discuss details with anyone
interested in hosting or co-hosting a rally in the near future.
Please, participate in your chapter activities when you can!
Chapter rallies, HF Nets, and Echo Link Nets are the backbone of our Amateur Radio Chapter.
Camp outs afford us the opportunity to have an event convenient to you.
